Knowing our fondness for fishy fest this was the ideal spot for our favorite indulgence, plus the with the darkened star lit sky, the soft warm breeze what more could we have asked for.
The food at Yulia is based on Mediterranean cuisine, simple but carefully prepared dishes that compliment the relaxed and laid back atmosphere of the restaurant. We munched our way through delightful starters of fresh well seasoned Caprese salad with soft creamy buffalo cheese, dips of eggplant mousse, lightly pickled vegetables and smooth nutty humus. This was accompanied by the best crusty ciabatta bread that I have tasted in a long time.
For main course, we ordered whole fish ( as in still with an eye on me). My selection of trout was oven cooked to perfection in a wrap of paper and foil which enclosed all the juices and flavors of the herbs. Each tender bite was a succulent buttery mouthful and even the color was pretty. My better half chose grilled Sea Bass served with a side dish of pesto sauce and surrounded by antipasto vegetables, wh ich was wolfed down before a could get a forkful!
We relaxed and even laughed at each others jokes across the casual table with glasses of crisp Chardonnay in hand. After declining a sweet dessert from the very attentive waiter, we looked passed the tall off white closed awnings, blinked at the soft lighting and turned towards the chill out comfy sofas and the dark mysterious sea. Then we raised our glasses to salute our sweet kids.
